After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Swiss law, Aude completed an LL.M. in Globalisation and Law, with a specialisation in Human Rights, at Maastricht University (Netherlands). Her area of expertise – developed through her professional experience and academic research – focuses on the «Women, Peace and Security» agenda (WPS), in particular the role of women peacemakers in preventing violent extremism.
Switzerland’s foreign policy is being reshaped by geopolitical fragmentation, fiscal pressure, militarisation, technological disruption, and climate crisis. At the same time, progress on gender equality is facing growing pushback. This publication argues that gender backlash is not a marginal issue, but a structural trend. It also argues that gender equality is not a symbolic add-on, but a condition for a credible and effective foreign policy.
