Noureddine Wenger is an assistant at the Europainstitut of the University of Basel. In the context of his doctoral thesis, he deals with the perception of Europe in the Arab world and the different intellectual and political positions that have been taken towards Europe since the beginning of the colonial era. His research inquires into the social construction of self-images and images of others, the global circulation of ideas and knowledge, and the relationship between global political debates and political activism.
