After her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Geneva, Alicia Joho completed a double Master’s degree in International Relations and Human Rights at Sciences Po Paris and the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research focused on peace and security policy, gender equality and postcolonialism: her Master’s thesis examined the conditions for effective participation of women in peace negotiations based on case studies in Colombia, Yemen and the Philippines. In the course of professional experience at the Office of the UN Secretary-General in New York, at the Swiss Mission to the EU in Brussels, at the FDFA in Bern and in a national NGO, Alicia has dealt with the topics of gender, foreign policy and youth participation. She is also involved in voluntary work as a co-founder of the student think tank for Eurasian relations (STEAR), as a member of Women in International Security Switzerland (WIIS) and at the Federal Youth Session.
