Ekaterina Karli

Co-Head Basel

Driven by a passion to make the world a safer place and improve people’s lives, Ekaterina chose journalism as her bachelor’s degree. She specialised in photojournalism and international journalism. Her enthusiasm for international issues, languages, and cultures brought her to Switzerland, where she completed a master’s degree in European Global Studies at the University of Basel.

After her studies, Ekaterina completed an internship at the OSCE (Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe) in Vienna, working in the Human Resources department with a focus on communications and outreach. She later worked at the ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) as a Protection Family Links Field Officer, supporting families affected by war.

Ekaterina’s interests lie in the areas of peacebuilding, human security and fair global cooperation. Since January 2026, she has served as Co-Regional Manager in Basel.
