Our elixir of life: As a grassroots organisation, we rely on a network of volunteers who are organised in two pillars: programmes and regional groups. The leaders of these groups, the Board, the blog team and the office form the RIGI. RIGI is synonymous with the mountain near Lucerne, where the first meeting to discuss the foraus strategy took place in 2009.

Our programmes are divided into twelve thematic working groups: Asia, Diplomacy & International Actors, Development Policy, Europe, Swiss Financial Hub Program, Peace & Security, Gender, Global Health, Migration, Science & Technology, Environment, Energy & Transport,  and International Law. They are networked throughout Switzerland, meet regularly to exchange ideas, prepare our foraus publications and attract the attention of politicians and other important players through policy briefs and discussion papers.

Our 9 regional groups can be found in all university cities in Switzerland: Geneva, Lausanne, Fribourg, Berne, Neuchâtel, Basel, Lucerne, Zurich and St. Gallen. They consist of committed students who want to network and actively influence Swiss foreign policy through events and discussions. In 2018 alone, they organised 120 events.
